Plagiarism Policy and AI Use Policy
Plagiarism Policy
Kahayan: Journal of Economic Studies and Research strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. Every submitted manuscript must be original and will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the review stage.
Forms of plagiarism that are not permitted include:

Direct plagiarism: copying sentences or paragraphs without citation

Paraphrased plagiarism: rewriting ideas or findings without acknowledgment

Idea plagiarism: using ideas or concepts from others without proper reference

Self-plagiarism: republishing previously published works without disclosure

Duplicate submission/publication: submitting the same paper to multiple journals
Similarity Threshold
The journal adopts the following similarity limits:

Maximum similarity of 20% including references, or

Maximum 25% excluding references
Manuscripts exceeding this limit will be returned for revision or rejected.
Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage, the editorial team may:

Request revision

Reject the manuscript

Withdraw the published article

Notify the institution or funding body
The journal follows COPE ethical guidelines when handling plagiarism.
AI Use Policy
The journal allows authors to use AI-based tools only for supportive technical purposes, such as:
✔ Grammar improvement
✔ Language editing
✔ Formatting assistance
✔ Reference organization
Examples: Grammarly, Spell-checking tools, Citation managers
However, authors are strictly prohibited from using AI to:
❌ Generate or rewrite the full manuscript
❌ Produce research findings, analysis, or datasets
❌ Fabricate references or quotations
❌ Generate literature reviews or theoretical foundations
❌ Write discussion or conclusion sections independently
Declaration of AI Use
If AI tools are used, authors must disclose them in the manuscript under Acknowledgment.
Example acceptable statement:
"The authors used AI-based tools solely for grammar refinement and language editing. All research content, findings, analyses, and interpretations are the full responsibility of the authors."
Failure to declare substantive AI-generated content will be treated as unethical manuscript manipulation.
