Peer Review Process

Kahayan: Journal of Economic Studies and Research implements a structured and rigorous peer review process to ensure that every published manuscript meets standards of originality, methodological quality, and academic contribution.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Every manuscript submitted will first be screened by the editorial team to evaluate:

  • Alignment with journal scope

  • Formatting and completeness of submission

  • Plagiarism/similarity level

  • Ethical compliance

Manuscripts that do not meet basic standards may be returned or rejected.


2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts will proceed to a double-blind review, where:

  • Authors do not know the identity of reviewers

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of authors

At least two qualified reviewers assess the manuscript based on academic rigor and relevance.


3. Review Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty of the research

  • Significance and clarity of research objectives

  • Appropriateness and validity of methodology

  • Quality of data, analysis, and interpretation

  • Contribution to economic theory, policy, or practice

  • Logical structure, clarity, and completeness of discussion

  • Relevance and accuracy of citations

Reviewers provide constructive comments for improvement.


4. Review Decision Categories

Review conclusions consist of:

  1. Accepted without revision

  2. Accepted with minor revision

  3. Accepted with major revision

  4. Resubmit after revision

  5. Rejected

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer recommendations.


5. Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests must:

  • Revise the manuscript according to reviewer comments

  • Provide a response-to-reviewers document

  • Highlight changes made

Revised manuscripts may be reassessed by reviewers if necessary.


6. Final Editorial Check

The editor verifies:

  • Revision compliance

  • Technical accuracy

  • Formatting and referencing consistency

Upon approval, manuscripts proceed to editing, layout, and online publication.


7. Estimated Review Timeline

  • Initial screening: 1–2 weeks

  • Peer review process: 4–8 weeks

  • Revision by authors: 1–4 weeks

  • Final decision: ±1 week

The journal prioritizes timely publication while maintaining review quality.
