Peer Review Process

Isen Mulang: Journal of Education and Learning implements a structured and rigorous peer review procedure to ensure the quality, originality, and academic contribution of each submitted manuscript.

1. Initial Screening

Each manuscript submitted will first undergo editorial evaluation to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope

  • Compliance with submission guidelines and format

  • Similarity score (plagiarism check)

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria may be returned to authors for revision or rejected.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review, where:

  • Reviewers do not know the authors’ identity

  • Authors do not know the reviewers’ identity

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic.

3. Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers will assess:

  • Originality, clarity, and significance of the research

  • Soundness and transparency of methodology

  • Organization and quality of data presentation

  • Depth of analysis and discussion

  • Accuracy and relevance of references

  • Clarity of academic writing and structure

Reviewers provide constructive feedback aimed at improving the manuscript.

4. Review Decision Outcomes

Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

  1. Accepted without revision

  2. Accepted with minor revisions

  3. Accepted with major revisions

  4. Revise and resubmit

  5. Rejected

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief.

5. Revision Process

If revisions are requested, authors must submit:

  • Revised manuscript with highlighted changes

  • Response-to-reviewer document addressing all comments

The editor may send revisions back to reviewers if necessary.

6. Final Acceptance

Once revisions meet required standards, the manuscript is declared accepted and proceeds to:

  • Editing

  • Layout

  • Online publication

7. Estimated Timeline

  • Initial check: 1–2 weeks

  • Review process: ± 4–8 weeks

  • Revision stage: ± 1–4 weeks

  • Final acceptance: ± 1 week

The journal prioritizes both quality and timeliness.
