Plagiarism Policy

Mandau: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a plagiarism screening using reputable similarity detection tools before entering the peer-review process.

Forms of plagiarism not tolerated include:

  • Direct plagiarism (copying text word-for-word without citation)

  • Self-plagiarism (reusing one's own published work without proper acknowledgment)

  • Mosaic plagiarism (paraphrasing with retained structure or ideas without citation)

  • Data or figure plagiarism

  • Improper citation or misrepresentation of sources

Similarity Threshold

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references) may be returned for revision or rejected.

  • Manuscripts with signs of intentional plagiarism will be immediately rejected.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality and authenticity of their work.


AI Use Policy

The journal recognizes the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, QuillBot) in academic writing. However, AI assistance must be used ethically, transparently, and responsibly.

Allowed Uses of AI

Authors may use AI tools for:

  • Grammar and spelling correction

  • Language polishing

  • Improving readability

  • Generating initial ideas or outlines

Prohibited Uses of AI

AI cannot be used to:

  • Generate entire manuscripts or substantial sections of text

  • Fabricate data, findings, or references

  • Replace the author's analytical, critical, or interpretive work

  • Produce fake community service outcomes or field data

Disclosure Requirement

If AI tools are used, authors must include a statement such as:

“This manuscript utilized AI-assisted tools for language editing only. All intellectual content, analysis, interpretations, and data are the sole responsibility of the authors.”

Accountability

Authors remain fully accountable for:

  • Accuracy of content

  • Validity of data

  • Ethical compliance

  • Originality of writing

AI-generated errors, inaccuracies, or ethical breaches are the author's responsibility.
